Two administrators added to Tigard-Tualatin
Two new administrators were added to the Tigard-Tualatin School District in a move the district says will enhance resources, practices and development dedicated to "first-class teachers and staff."
Lenichtka "Len" Reed is the district's new associate director of human resources. Reed will be focused on building an effective human capital program to benefit employees district-wide. Her primary focus will be on identifying and growing top talent inside and outside the district, implementing practices that invest in professional development and retention, and executing a strong recruitment agenda.
"With nearly two decades in education, (Reed) is a proven transformational leader dedicated to building strong cultures and systems," the district said via news release.
Reed was named the 2010 Administrator of the Year at Hemet Unified School District in California. She comes to Tigard-Tualatin from the Gladstone School District where she served as the principal for Kraxberger Middle School.
Tim Blackburn will serve as Title III administrator. In his new role, Blackburn will lead the district's professional development implementation and evaluation of the district's teaching corps, as well as the district's English Language development and two-way immersion programs. Blackburn also will help with curriculum adoption and alignment.
"Tim has also been in education for nearly 20 years and comes to TTSD from Education Northwest," according to the press release.
Blackburn started his career in New York City schools, before coming to Oregon to help develop professional learning.
