Want to see some top-rated films where Fido and Mittens are the heroes and heroines?
Then look no further as both the Second Annual NY Cat Film Festival and the Third Annual NY Dog Film Festival hit Tigard's Regal Bridgeport Village Screen X & IMAX screens on Sept. 24 and Oct. 1, respectively.
"The festivals celebrate our love for cats and dogs, illustrated through film," a news release about the cat film event states in part. "Unlike internet video festivals, these programs are works of art, thoughtfully curated by pet wellness expert Tracie Hotchner."
The two-hour Sept. 24 NY Cat Film Festival explores the lives of felines through a variety of short films ranging in length from 2 to 26 minutes. The festival begins at 7 p.m.
Not to be outdone, the NY Dog Film Festival is set for Oct. 1 at 7 p.m., also at Regal Bridgeport Village Screen X and IMAX. It too runs for two hours and promises to "bring dog aficionados together to share a communal experience of watching short films that celebrate the remarkable bond between people and dogs."
Cost is $12.50 for adults, $9 for children and $9.50 for senior citizens.
A portion of every ticket benefits the Humane Society of Central Oregon.
Tickets can be purchased at dogfilmfestival.com or catfilmfestival.com.
