The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday involving eastbound Tualatin-Sherwood Road, just west of Martinazzi Avenue.

COURTESY TVF&R - Tualatin-Sherwood Road was closed in both directions shortly after 4:30 p.m. Tuesday after a vehicle crashed into a tree, just west of Martinazzi Avenue. Tualatin police are continuing to investigate a serious accident where one person was transported to a local trauma center with life-threatening injuries after crashing into a tree along Tualatin-Sherwood Road.

The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. along eastbound Tualatin-Sherwood Road just west of Martinazzi Avenue in Tualatin.

Capt. Tim Nokes, a spokesman for Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue, said the victim in the vehicle was taken to the hospital via Metro West ambulance. It closed portions of the road down.

Nokes said it appeared that another vehicle may have struck and glanced off the initial vehicle as well.

The road was closed in both directions.
