Streamed production will feature Sinatra favorites, available to rent Dec. 4-31

COURTESY PHOTO - Tigards Broadway Rose Theatre Co. will stream Christmas My Way - A Sinatra Holiday Bash, available to rent Dec. 4 through 31.  Trying to make the holidays bright in these COVID-19 times, the Broadway Rose Theatre Co. will offer a streaming musical revue, "Christmas My Way — A Sinatra Holiday Bash," available to rent Dec. 4 through Dec. 31.

While the company is still not able to perform in person, Broadway Rose plans to safely rehearse the musical production, record it and stream it online, as it did with the recent production of "Daddy Long Legs."

"You don't get to hear this kind of singing very much nowadays," said director Dan Murphy, who also choreographs the show. "We are excited to be doing this show, not only for the Christmas tunes, but for some of the popular hits (Frank) Sinatra made famous, and you can enjoy them right in the comfort of your home."

The performance includes classic Sinatra tunes to Rat Pack-style versions of seasonal favorites. It includes 40 popular hits, including "Fly Me to The Moon," "You Make Me Feel So Young," "New York, New York," "Mistletoe and Holly," "The Christmas Song," "Silver Bells," "I'll Be Home for Christmas," and many more.

The performance features a cast of four — Charles Cook, Courtney Temple, Joe Theissen and Malia Tippets — accompanied by a three-piece band.

Music direction for "Christmas My Way — A Sinatra Holiday Bash," is by Darcy White. The creative team includes Phil McBeth, lighting designer; Allison Dawe, costume designer; Liz Carlson and Jeff Duncan, prop designers; Brian Karl Moen, sound designer; Mark Daniels, videographer; and Jessica Junor, production stage manager.

Broadway Rose says it is taking tremendous precautions to maintain safety during the rehearsal and recording process. The small production team practices social distancing and masking, as well as adhering to stringent backstage protocols that the company developed.

The performers and musicians maintain social distance while performing — with the exception of Joe Theissen and Malia Tippets, who are a married couple. All will wear masks when they are off-stage.

Rentals for "Christmas My Way — A Sinatra Holiday Bash" are $25 per household for a 48-hour streaming rental and are on sale now through Dec. 24. Oregon Trail Card holders can purchase $5 tickets through the Arts for All program. For more information, visit broadwayrose.org or call 503-620-5262.

Broadway Rose's 2020 season is funded in part by the Regional Arts & Culture Council, the Oregon Arts Commission and the city of Tigard. The title sponsor is Pearson Financial Group, and CTA Lab is the show sponsor with The Oregonian serving as media sponsor.
