Avery St. in Tualatin.

The renovated 40,000-square-foot building will house the district's supply warehouse, fleet maintenance, communications, facilities maintenance and administrative support staff.

Logistics staff provide critical services that keep the district's apparatus running, fire stations operational, personnel equipped with supplies along with uninterrupted, reliable communications among the fire district and emergency services partner agencies, according to a TVF&R news release.

The logistics division was previously housed at the North Operating Center in Aloha, built in 1979 and designed to serve five fire stations in the area. But limited space and decentralization proved a challenge over the past four decades where 22 additional fire stations were added.

After finding the Tualatin location, the district, which provides services for an almost 400-square-mile service area, sold its Aloha logistics facility to Washington County.COURTESY PHOTO: TVF&R - TVF&Rs new logistics building in Tualatin includes space for fleet maintenance for the districts fire vehicles and equipment.

Improvements to the existing Avery Street building included seismic upgrades to meet current building codes and enhanced workflow design for each group, which will greatly improve efficiencies in service, according to officials.
