Tualatin police arrest coin shop robbery suspect
Tualatin police detectives, along with the help of the Washington County Tactical Negotiations Team and the Washington County Crisis Negotiation Unit, arrested a man Monday that they believe robbed a Tualatin coin store on Dec. 23.
Marcel Ikaika Kuikahi Macy was arrested as he left his residence, according to a news release. Detectives believe Macy was the man responsible for robbing the Local Coin Company at 19354 S.W. Boones Ferry Road with a long-barreled silver handgun.
Police allege Macy took five coins valued at $7,000 and fled the scene in a Chevrolet Silverado pickup. Those coins were sold a short time later at Harry's Coin Shop in Beaverton for $5,497.
Macy was lodged at the Washington County Jail on a Measure 11 Robbery Charge.
