Tigard Rotary Club donates $23k to Packed with Pride
The Rotary Club of Tigard recently donated a check for $23,000 to Packed with Pride, a Tigard-based organization that helps out families experiencing food insecurities during the COVId-19 pandemic.
Dan Murphy, president of the Rotary Club of Tigard Foundation, and Julie Ketchum, president of Rotary Club of Tigard, presented the check to Packed with Pride representatives Maureen Wolf and Margie Yemoto-Greene at the Packed with Pride distribution center.
Packed with Pride was started at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown in March 2020 to provide food for families and households in the Tigard-Tualatin School District area who are experiencing food insecurities. The organization provides 850 food boxes weekly, serving about 630 families. During the month of December 2020, 401 volunteers provided 688 hours of service to the effort. The Rotary Club of Tigard Foundation will also provide $4,000 in groceries to Packed with Pride thanks to a $2,000 matching grant from Rotary District 5100.
