Monday, March 8

A burglar entered a home through the back door and broke a bedroom window in the 10200 block of Southwest 70th Avenue overnight. Nothing was apparently missing.

A man was arrested for DUII and reckless driving after officers responded to an injury crash. The suspect was traveling eastbound on Southwest Durham Road in a Chevy sedan and departed from his lane, and went into oncoming traffic, crashing head on into another vehicle. The suspect was transported to the hospital. Drugs and paraphernalia were found in the suspect's vehicle.

Tuesday, March 9

A man was arrested for assault IV witnessed by a child, strangulation and a probation violation after officers were dispatched to the 11200 block of Southwest Greenburg Road on a disturbance call at an apartment.

Wednesday, March 10

A dump truck was stolen from a construction site overnight at Southwest Fir Street and 72nd Avenue.

Officers responded to a theft in progress in the 12000 block of Southwest Main Street, arresting a man, who had been trespassed the day before, for criminal trespass II, shoplifting III, menacing and disorderly conduct II. The man, who has a history of aggression toward officers, was screaming and cursing at store employees when he was asked to leave and berated responding officers. He pounded his fists on the patrol vehicle and balled up his fists as he aggressively approached one of the officers. A second officer was able to gain compliance by pointing a Taser at him, and the suspect was taken into custody without incident. The Taser was not used. Community members in the area were visibly concerned about the suspect's behavior.

Thursday, March 11

A business owner in the 14600 block of Southwest 74th Avenue reported a suspicious truck parking near their work vehicles. It appeared the person or people in the truck may have potentially been trying to steal catalytic converters. The business owner managed to scare them off through a live surveillance camera system, and police are investigating.

Neighbors reported concerns about a 6-year-old child who may be left alone for long periods of time. The case has been referred to the Oregon Department of Human Services for follow up.

Friday, March 12

A man was cited for theft, after loss prevention employees at a store in the 9000 block of Southwest Hall Boulevard reported he stole a TV. Responding officers found the man nearby with the TV still in the shopping cart. Store employees provided surveillance video, and the man was trespassed from store property for two years.

A man was arrested for DUII and reckless driving after a witness reported he was driving erratically and briefly went into oncoming traffic on Highway 99W near Southwest McDonald Street.

Saturday, March 13

A woman was cited for DUII after she crashed into a light pole at the intersection of Southwest Summerfield and Highland drives. She was released to her husband.

Sunday, March 14

Officers responded to a welfare check in the 9500 block of Southwest Shady Place and discovered a 72-year-old woman deceased in her home. The death is believed to be from natural causes.

A burglary was reported in the 9200 block of Southwest Oak Street. The caller reported two men with flashlights entered the back of an unoccupied home. Officers found no evidence of a crime.
