Sherwood names pro tem city manager
Kristen Switzer, Sherwood's director of community services, has been appointed as city manager pro tem.
Switzer, a 20-year employee of the city, was selected by the Sherwood City Council on April 1, to oversee Sherwood's day-to-day operations as the city looks to replace City Manager Joe Gall.
Gall recently announced he would be leaving the city for a position with Clean Water Services in Hillsboro after almost a decade of service in Sherwood.
Switzer will become interim city manager when Gall leaves in May and will work with Gall over the coming weeks for her new role.
"Kristen has been a key member of our senior leadership team for many years and I am excited to see her step up to this new challenge," Gall stated in a news release. "I am confident that she will do a great job during the upcoming months until a new city manager is selected."
Switzer has an extensive background in local government, having worked for the cities of Lake Oswego and Newport Beach, California, before coming to Sherwood. She holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Oregon and recently graduated from the NW Women's Leadership Academy, a nine-month professional development cohort for emerging local government leaders in Oregon and Washington.
