The plan is to hire a second assistant city manager who would be in charge of finance and infrastructure

PMG FILE PHOTO - Tigard hopes to hire a assistant city manager in charge of infrastructure and finance in the upcoming months.

Tigard's selection of a new assistant city manager is ongoing after the city closed its application process Sept. 7. Plans now are to review those applications and determine next steps in the selection process.

Although City Manager Steve Rymer said the selection will be a multi-month process, hopes are to get someone on board as soon as possible.

That person will become the city's second assistant city manager, joining current Kathy Nyland, who will focus on city engagement and innovation. The new person hired will oversee finance and infrastructure, replacing the city's central services department. That new assistant city manager will also help select the city's new financial services director, a position that was recently posted.COURTESY PHOTO: STEVE RYMER - RYMER

Tigard wants someone with at least seven years of progressively responsible management or administrative experience in municipal finance for its new financial services director.

The salary range for the position is between $111,404 and $145,661.
