Tigard's Fit Alliance will host a Breast Cancer Community Impact Fundraiser on Oct. 23 with proceeds donated to Breast Friends, a Tigard-based nonprofit that provides a community of support for women diagnosed with breast cancer.
The event will run from 2 to 6 p.m. in Fit Alliance's parking lot at 15965 S.W. 72nd Ave.
"It's kind of like a health fair/fun festival," said Jordon Hice, who along with Lisa Rhoades owns the gym and personal training studio. "It will be a pretty big event. I hope we can get enough people there."
Hice said there will be local vendors on hand, including a variety of food vendors, who have all pledged to donate a portion of their proceeds to benefit Breast Friends. A chiropractor, acupuncturist and a martial arts instructor also will be there.
"We have Portland Goat Party, so they're going to bring out little miniature baby goats," Hice said. "We have a giant inflatable target, and then we have axes that have Velcro on them, so we can do inflatable axe throwing."
The event will include a mystery "wall of wine" raffle where participants pay $25 to select an unknown bottle of wine, worth $30 to upwards of $75. Another raffle will include baskets of goodies from local merchants.
"Buying raffle tickets and buying wine, also, 100% of those proceeds go to Breast Friends," said Hice.
