An estimated 100 people marched Saturday morning in Sherwood to protest the leaked draft opinion from the U.S. Supreme Court, which indicated it could overturn Roe v. Wade, the 1973 landmark decision that ruled abortion is a constitutional right. The marchers, part of the national "Bans Off Our Bodies" march, traveled from Cannery Square in downtown Sherwood and up Sherwood Boulevard to Highway 99W.
Among those marching was Anna, a Tigard resident, who joined her mother Kathryn from Beaverton as they stood along Highway 99W.
"I have four children and that was my choice," said Kathryn, who held a sign reading, "I'm with her," featuring arrows pointing in all directions.
Patrick Briggs, a former Sherwood resident, said he came all the way up from his new home in Pasadena, California, to participate in the march.
