'Cocktail Week' begins at select Washington County bars July 24
The Washington County Visitors Association is hosting its first-ever Tualatin Valley Cocktail Week from July 24 to July 30 at select bars and restaurants around the county.
Participants can visit 24 participating locations around Washington County that crafted new, exclusive cocktails just for the event.
On Sunday, July 24, participants can start voting for their favorite cocktails at the different restaurants and bars around Beaverton, Hillsboro, Sherwood, Tigard and more.
"It's an opportunity for us to show that Washington County has an interesting and diverse restaurant and bar scene," said Dave Parulo, president and chief executive officer of the visitors association. "So this is just a different way of doing that — to help elevate people's attention to Washington County here on the Westside."
Each participating restaurant or bar designed a cocktail just for Cocktail Week, Parulo said. A full list can be found online at tualatinvalley.org/cocktail-week.
"I want the Flamingo, myself," Parulo said, referencing the "gin-forward creation" by Bar Flora in Beaverton.
Another cocktail that jumped out at Parulo was the Tiger Crush from Top Burmese Bistro Royale — also in Beaverton — with gin, lime, black sugar and mint.
"But I think I'd be happy with most of them," he said.
Starting July 24, the participating locations will serve their specialty drinks and share information in-store about how to vote.
Voters will also be entered to win a $100 gift card to the winning location, according to the website, and there will be a few smaller prizes along the way.
