Sherwood Wine Festival set Aug. 5 and 6
This year's Sherwood Wine Festival is set for Friday and Saturday, Aug. 5 and 6, at the Sherwood Center for the Arts.
The two-day event showcases local Sherwood wineries and restaurants while raising funds for philanthropic projects supported by the Rotary Club of Sherwood.
Renee Brouse, who is executive director of the Sherwood Chamber of Commerce and a co-president of the Rotary Club of Sherwood, said the evening will kick off with an exclusive winemaker's dinner that begins at 4 p.m. at the arts center. (There's a 4 to 5 p.m. happy hour with dinner served 5 to 8 p.m.)
Dinner is being provided by Chef Shannon Johnson of Trees Restaurant.
"It's going to be fun," said Brouse. "There will be 15 wineries sharing their craft."
Friday's music will be provided by Matt Brown Blue Eyed Soul.
Tickets for the wine maker's dinner are $125 ($25 of which goes to the Rotary Club) per person and include a free wine glass while they last. Dinner seating is limited and those interested in tickets should visit SherwoodWineFestival.
Festivities continue on Saturday with a wine-tasting event that continues to showcase Sherwood wineries and restaurants.
General admission is $20 for adults age 21 and older. It also includes a wine glass while supplies last.
Wine and food are priced separately.
Saturday's event, which runs from noon to 7 p.m., will include entertainment by Matt Brown, Siena Christie, Mariah Wynne and Barrie Dempsey.
