Alpenrose Dairy’s Easter Egg Hunt — Alpenrose Dairy’s 52nd annual Easter Egg Hunt is back Saturday with new start times. The world famous Easter Bunny will also be on site to meet all egg hunters. This free event is hosted by Alpenrose on the pastoral setting of the 98-year-old dairy and has become a special tradition for families since 1962. The vast amount of acreage at the dairy makes it an idyllic setting for the hunt, and families often make this an entire day event by packing a picnic lunch. Alpenrose officials are encouraging egg-hunters to arrive early since parking is limited. Alpenrose Dairy is located at 6149 S.W. Shattuck Road in Portland.

Rabbit Romp — The Oregon Zoo’s annual Rabbit Romp features candy egg hunts every 10 to 15 minutes between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday. Children ages 3 to 10 are divided into age groups and invited to hunt for compostable “plastic” eggs, candy and prizes. Toddlers 2 and younger can participate in a candy hunt organized especially for them. Parents are not allowed in most hunts, but a special “family hunt” area is available for kids with special needs, or families wanting to do the hunt all together. Guests should bring their own baskets. All of the eggs are “Eco Eggs,” and are fully compostable. All of the candy inside is organic and palm oil-free. Rabbit Romp festivities also include pettable bunnies at the Family Farm, bunny crafts, games and photo opportunities. Activities are free with zoo admission.
