Despite the Robin Hood Festival's cancellation because of the coronavirus, local students are still being honored.

The Sherwood Robin Hood Festival will not be held this year for only the third time since its 1954 inception, but that's not stopping the Maid Marian Court.

A beloved annual tradition in Sherwood, the Maid Marian Court is made up of girls and young women who attend local schools, selected to represent Sherwood and the Robin Hood Festival Association in events and community service projects.

The Maid Marian Court has been named for 2020, and it is staying active in the community even though the Robin Hood Festival is canceled because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Among other service projects, members of the Maid Marian Court this year created 100 face masks for Sherwood residents in need, made Zoom calls to local children celebrating a birthday under quarantine, and will be hosting the annual Hidden Medallion Hunt in Old Town Sherwood.
