COURTESY PHOTO: SOUTHWEST BIBLE CHURCH - The Southwest Bible Church in Beaverton kicks off its 2022 Sunday event series with a 5K run, walk and a fun run on July 31.Beaverton's Southwest Bible Church will kick off its annual Sunday outdoor events series on July 31, followed by four more Sundays of family-friendly, community events.

The first event on Sunday, July 31, starts with a 5K walk at 8:30 a.m., a 5K race at 9 a.m. and a one-mile fun run later in the morning.

Anyone interested can sign up online at through July 28. The 5K run and walk require a $10 ticket and the fun run is free.

Next is Southwest Bible Church's annual car show at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 7.

The church has been hosting the car show since 2005, and every year it boasts an array of classics, exotics, imports, trucks, motorcycles and more. There will also be live music, a free barbecue dinner and an awards ceremony.

Southwest Bible Church's International Night is at 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 14, featuring prepared foods from various cuisines and activities for all ages.

There will be food from China, India, Italy, Korea, Nigeria, the Philippines and Hawaii.

Carnival night takes up the evening on Sunday, Aug. 21. At 4:30 p.m., the church will have carnival games, snow cones and cotton candy for all ages.

The event series wraps up with its 13th annual First Responders Night at 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 28.

People can enjoy a free barbecue, meet local first responders and take a tour around the field to see various emergency vehicles on display.
