Broadway Rose Theatre Co. is continuing its 2022 season of live musicals, featuring a production of "The Evolution of Mann."
Based on the novel "Nine Lives," the production runs through Oct. 16. at the refurbished theater, located at 12850 S.W. Grant Ave. in Tigard.
The musical follows the life of New Yorker Henry Mann, who has attended 12 weddings in 12 months and is about to attend another after an invitation from his former girlfriend, Sheila.
At the same time, he's trying to find a soulmate — could it be Christine, a schoolteacher, or Tamar, who is rebounding from an affair with a married man?
"Throughout his quest, Henry gets a great deal of support from his friend and roommate, Gwen, who is trying to cope with being separated from her wife," states Broadway Rose in promotional material for the show. "With humor and heart, this relatable story depicts the trials of dating and how to build a lasting relationship in the 21st century."
The cast includes Richie Stone as Henry Mann, with Kortney Ballenger playing Gwen. Kailey Rhodes fills multiple roles as Sheila, Tamar, Christine and other characters in the musical.
The production is directed by Isaac Lamb, with musical direction from Darcy White.
Broadway Rose creative team includes Sean O'Skea, set designer; Carl Faber, lighting designer; Janelle Sutton, costume designer; Jeff Duncan, prop designer; Brian Karl Moen, sound designer; and Jessica Junor, production stage manager.
Evening performances are set for 7:30 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays, with matinees playing at 2 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
Tickets range from $30 to $50 for adults. Tickets in upper sections of the theater for those ages 6 through 18 years old are $20, and those ages 19 through 35 are $25.
Broadway Rose is strongly encouraging patrons to wear masks throughout the performances.
