Young artists sought for Beaverton Teen Art Show
Young artists in the Beaverton area, it's your time to shine.
The Beaverton Teen Library Council is accepting art from Thursday, Oct. 27, through Saturday, Oct. 29, for inclusion in the city's 20th annual Teen Art Show.
Artists can submit up to two pieces of artwork for consideration. Participation is limited to area teens in grades 6-12.
The Teen Art Show will be held at the Beaverton City Library's downtown location at 12375 S.W. Fifth St. from Wednesday, Nov. 2, through Sunday, Nov. 6, during library hours.
Visitors to the art exhibition will be able to vote on the People's Choice Awards. The winner for each division — middle and high school — will receive a $100 gift certificate for Blick Art Materials.
The awards are sponsored by the New Friends of the Beaverton City Library and Blick Art Materials.
Artwork can be brought to the teen room at the Beaverton City Library between noon and 5:30 p.m. Oct. 27 through Oct. 29.
Entry guidelines are available at either library location, both the main library downtown and the Murray Scholls branch at 11200 S.W. Murray Scholls Place. More information is also available on the library website.
Artists are asked to attend an opening reception from 4 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, at the main library. Light refreshments will be served at the reception, which also marks the start of award voting.
