Tigard improves to 6-0 in conference with the victories

HILLSBORO — The Tigard High School girls basketball team keeps right on rolling.

The Tigers picked up their seventh straight victory on the season, and their sixth straight to open Pacific Conference play, by rolling to a 55-24 win over Hillsboro in a conference game played Tuesday at Hillsboro High School.

With the win, league-leading Tigard moved to 6-0 in Pacific Conference play (11-5 on the season), putting the Tigers one game ahead of Glencoe and Tualatin, who are tied for second place, in the standings.

Hillsboro moved to 2-4 in Pacific Conference contests and to 12-4 on the season with the setback.

Senior guards Lexi Carter and Emilee Cincotta paced Tigard with 19 points apiece in the win at Hillsboro.

Prior to that game, the Tigers posted a 65-40 victory over Century in a Conference game played Friday at Tigard High School.

Carter had 20 points in that win. Cincotta added 17 points and junior Kaylie Boschma scored 11.

Tigard will put its seven-game winning streak on the line on Friday when it faces Forest Grove in a conference game starting at 5:45 p.m. at Forest Grove High School.

On Tuesday, the Tigers will travel to Glencoe for a 6:45 p.m. conference contest.
