The Lady Bowmen come up with a split in races at last week's Three Rivers League meet

The Bowmen bested West Linn 26-30, and they topped Lake Oswego 23-35 at a league double dual meet held Sept. 27 at Lake Oswego Junior High School.

With the sweep, Sherwood evened its league record at 3-3.

The Bowmen had a strong one-two-three punch at last week's meet. Sophomore Jaron Homer led the way for Sherwood, finishing in third place in a time of 17 minutes, 49.50 seconds for the 5,000-meter race.

Bowmen senior Josh Quaglio was right behind him in fourth place, at 18:06.63, and Sherwood junior Henry Giles took fifth place with a mark of 18:07.90.

Also for the Bowmen, sophomore Thomas Osborne was eighth at 18:12.55, senior Trevor Widell was 14th at 18:54.04, senior Brandon Hughes was 15th at 18:59.77 and freshman Daniel Gomez was 18th at 19:10.73.

West Linn junior Avery Cook won the boys race in a time of 17:39.00.

The Sherwood girls came away with a split at last week's race. The Lady Bowmen topped Lake Oswego 25-30 and they fell 15-49 to West Linn.

With the split, the Sherwood girls moved to 1-5 in league meets.

Freshman Kari Eddington paced the Lady Bowmen at last week's event. She finished in eighth place in a time of 22:05.66. Sherwood sophomore Madi Ramos also had a top-10 finish, placing 10th at 23:11.62.

Also for the Lady Bowmen, freshman Brooke Smith was 12th at 24:04.33, junior Emily Pannell was 14th at 24:24.20, sophomore Vanessa VanWinkle was 20th at 25:25.81, junior Allison Pierce was 21st at 25:30.56 and senior Gracie Hollin was 22nd at 25:49.23.

Lake Oswego senior Grace David won the girls race in a time of 20:16.41.

The Bowmen teams will be back in action Friday, when they run at The Fast & Flat Invitational, which will be held at Joe Dancer Park in McMinnville. The varsity girls race starts at 4:30 p.m. and the varsity boys will begin at 5 p.m.

Sherwood returns to TRL action on Wednesday, when it faces Tigard and St. Mary's Academy (girls only) in a league double dual meet to be held at Westmoreland Park.
