The Sherwood boys even their mark at 3-3 in Three Rivers League games with the split

The Bowmen, on Jan. 17, powered their way to a 64-45 win over Newberg in a Three Rivers League game played at Newberg High School.

But, on Friday, Sherwood fell 79-44 to West Linn in a league contest played at Sherwood High School.

With the split of its last two games, Sherwood moved to 3-3 in TRL play (10-6 overall), putting the Bowmen in fifth place in the league standings.

Senior guard Billy Hale helped lead the way for the Bowmen in the win at Newberg. Hale sank three three-point baskets and scored a game-high 17 points before suffering an ankle injury.

Senior guard Owen Grubbe added 13 points for Sherwood and senior Nick Koronko scored 11.

Sophomore guard Jamison Guerra led the Bowmen in the loss to West Linn with 13 points. Grubbe scored 10 points and senior post Jace Sucher added seven.

The Bowmen will be back in action on Friday, when they play at Tualatin in a league game scheduled to start at 7:15 p.m. On Tuesday, Sherwood will travel to Canby for a 7 p.m. league contest.
