Tigard finishes its Three Rivers League schedule with a 4-3 record in matches

TIGARD — The Tigard High School wrestling team made its final home match of the season a successful one.

The Tigers finished their regular-season schedule by powering their way to a 57-21 win over Lakeridge in a Three Rivers League dual match finale held last Thursday at Tigard High School.

With the victory, Tigard finished its TRL slate with a 4-3 record. Lakeridge finished up at 1-6 in league matches.

Tigard, in the match with the Pacers, picked up four wins by fall.

Senior Jose Carrasco set the tone for the Tigers, as he pinned Lakeridge's Ronan Chapman in a time of 1 minute and 42 seconds in the 106-pound match.

Tigard's next fall came at 132 pounds, where junior Emilio Jimenez defeated Ryan Boucher in 2:54. At 160, Tiger senior Cole McCallister pinned Jared Bartunek in 2:22.

Tigard's other win by fall came at 182, where senior Jacob Beck pinned Jacob Groman in 3:23.

Also for the Tigers, junior Killian Ryan scored a 7-5 decision win over Cole Brink at 120 pounds.

Getting forfeit wins for Tigard were freshman Cameron O'Connor (113 pounds), junior Edgar Garcia (126), senior Eduardo Belmont (152), junior Javier Velasquez (220) and senior Nicholas Miller (285).

The Tigers will next be in action at the Three Rivers League district tournament, which will be held Friday and Saturday at Tualatin High School.
