Tigers turn in strong marks at Jesuit Relays
The Tigard High School track and field teams turned in some strong marks at the Nike/Jesuit Twilight Relays, held Friday at Jesuit High School.
For the Tigard boys, senior Braden Lenzy sprinted to third place in the Elite division 100-meter dash in a time of 10.82 seconds.
Lenzy also teamed with Josh Burns, Jaaron Kletzel and Skylar Holloway to finish second in the 4 x 200 relay in 1:29.40. In the 4 x 400 relay, the Tiger team of Caleb Wachsmuth, Holloway, Hunter Gilbert and Lenzy finished third with a mark of 3:24.49.
Kletzel ran to eighth in the 110 high hurdles in 15.45 and Gilbert cleared 12 feet, 6 inches to take ninth place in the pole vault.
For the Tigard girls, senior Lauren Paven took sixth place in the Elite division 100 in 12.47. Paven also teamed with Peyton Green, Gabby McGaughey and Audrey Wells to finish third in the 4 x 400 relay in 4:01.48. In the 4 x 100 relay, the team of Green, Paven, Meqkylih Smith and Zoe Floyd finished fifth in 49.59.
Senior Lauren McFall took fourth place in the javelin with a throw of 126-2 and junior Jess Liles cleared 5-0 to take fourth place in the high jump.
The Tigers will be back in action Wednesday, when they host Lakeridge and St. Mary's Academy in a Three Rivers League double dual meet finale to be held at Tigard High School.
