Tualatin girls get soccer win over Canby
The Tualatin High School girls soccer team found the perfect way to end a league losing streak.
The Timberwolves ended their two-game Three Rivers League losing skid by running to a 4-0 victory over Canby in a league match held Tuesday at Tualatin High School.
With the win, Tualatin improved to 1-2 in TRL matches (7-3 overall), putting the Wolves in a tie with Tigard and Canby for fourth place in the league standings. Canby also moved to 7-3 on the season with the loss.
Sophomore Cally Togiai had two goals for the Wolves in the win. Freshman Alyvia Embree and senior Megan MacPherson each had one goal.
Tualatin will be back in action on Thursday, when it plays at West Linn in a league match starting at 7:30 p.m.
The Tigard girls lost their second straight league match on Tuesday, as the Tigers fell 3-2 to Lake Oswego in a contest played at Tigard High School.
Tigard moved to 1-2 in TRL matches (8-2 overall) with the setback. Lake Oswego improved to 3-0 in TRL play, and to 6-4 overall, with the victory.
Senior Gabby Brown scored both Tiger goals in Tuesday's match.
Tigard will be back in action on Thursday, when it hosts Oregon City in a league match starting at 7 p.m.
The Tigard boys stayed unbeaten on the season by scoring a 2-1 win at Lake Oswego on Tuesday. The Tigers improved to 2-0 in TRL play (9-0-1 overall) with the victory. Tigard will be back in action on Thursday, when it travels to Oregon City for a 7 p.m. match at Pioneer Stadium.
The Tualatin boys also picked up a win on Tuesday, downing Canby 5-1 in a match played at Canby High School. The Wolves improved to 2-1 in TRL play (10-1 overall) with the victory.
Tualatin will be back in action on Thursday, when it hosts West Linn in a 7 p.m. league match.
