Tualatin's Hinrichs named TRL's top coach
It was quite a big year for the Tualatin High School volleyball team.
The Timberwolves battled their way to the No. 3 spot in the final Three Rivers League standings at 9-5 (15-8 overall), and they also advanced to the second round of the state playoffs for the first time since 2006.
Now, members of the Tualatin team are being honored for their strong performance during the 2018 season.
Leading the way for the Wolves is head coach Bridget Hinrichs, who was named the Three Rivers League Coach of the Year.
Meanwhile, Tualatin junior Jackie Phillips was a first-team All-Three Rivers League selection at setter.
Five other Timberwolves earned All-Three Rivers League accolades. Tualatin senior outside hitter Addison Crawford and junior right side Olivia Ashley were both second-team all-league selections. Senior outside hitter Kendra Zuckerman, junior libero Bella Valdes and sophomore middle blocker Kylie Zralka were each honorable-mention all-league picks.
For Tigard, which finished in a tie for sixth place in the final Three Rivers League standings at 3-11 (4-14 overall), sophomore outside hitter Ali Dreves was a second-team all-league selection.
Also for the Tigers, senior outside hitter Alicia Vandervoort-Walters and senior libero Maddie Hoover were both honorable-mention all-league picks.
Other players named to the All-Three Rivers League first team include West Linn senior libero Ellie Snook, Canby sophomore outside hitter Daley McClellan, Canby junior setter Ruby Kayser, West Linn sophomore outside hitter Audra Wilmes, West Linn sophomore middle blocker Makayla Long, Lake Oswego junior outside hitter Jensen Kaelin, Lake Oswego senior middle blocker Anna-Kate Treske, Oregon City junior middle blocker Madison Hornback, Oregon City junior outside hitter Alison Brown, Lakeridge junior defensive specialist Maicy Wear and St. Mary's senior outside hitter Hadlee Hallman.
Snook was named the Three Rivers League Player of the Year.
