The Bowmen improve to 5-0 in Pacific play, keeping them alone in first place in the standings

The Sherwood High School boys basketball team stayed undefeated in Pacific Conference play.

And the Bowmen remained perfect in a big way.

Sherwood, on Friday, ran to a 69-32 win over Glencoe in a Pacific Conference game played at Glencoe High School.

With the win, the Sherwood improved to 5-0 in conference play (14-4 overall), keeping the Bowmen alone in first place in the conference standings, a half game ahead of second-place Forest Grove, which is 5-1. Glencoe fell to 0-5 in conference games, and to 2-15 on the season.

Senior Braden Thorn led a balanced Sherwood scoring attack in the victory with 10 points. Senior Tyler Hix and sophomore Asher Krauel added nine points apiece. Senior Charlie Bulfinch scored eight and junior Jamison Guerra and junior Blake Jensen each had seven.

The Bowmen will be back in action on Wednesday, when they host Century in a conference game starting at 5:45 p.m. On Friday, Sherwood will travel to Newberg for a 7:15 p.m. conference contest.

The Sherwood girls, on Friday, were edged 33-31 at Glencoe. With the loss, the Lady Bowmen moved to 3-2 in conference play (10-7 overall), putting them in a tie with Century and McMinnville for second place in the conference standings, a game behind first-place Liberty, which is 4-1. Glencoe improved to 2-3 in conference games, and to 8-9 on the season.

The Lady Bowmen will be back in action on Wednesday, when they host Century at 7:15 p.m. On Friday, Sherwood will play at Newberg in a 5:45 p.m. contest.
