The Hawks score Lewis & Clark victories over both Westside Christian and Riverdale

The Horizon Christian High School basketball team picked up a pair of impressive wins over the past week.

On Saturday, the Hawks ran to a 73-40 win over Westside Christian in a Lewis & Clark League game played at Westside Christian High School. On Monday, the Hawks posted a 62-37 win over Riverdale in a league contest played at Horizon Christian.

With the two wins, Horizon Christian moved to 7-3 in Lewis & Clark League play (15-7 overall), putting the Hawks in second place in the league standings, behind only De La Salle North Catholic, which is 9-0 in league games.

Junior Max Peterson led the way for Horizon Christian in Saturday's win at Westside Christian with a season-best 22 points. Senior Connor Zralka added 15 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists. Senior Kyle Free scored 11 points.

In Monday's win over Riverdale, Zralka had 24 points to go with 12 rebounds and seven assists.

The Hawks will be back in action on Friday, when they play at Catlin Gabel in a game starting at 7:30 p.m. On Tuesday, Horizon Christian will host De La Salle North Catholic at 7:30 p.m.
