The Bowmen improve to 4-1 in Pacific Conference matches with their 57-9 victory

The Sherwood High School wrestling team just keeps on rolling through Pacific Conference competition.

The Bowmen, after losing their opening conference match of the season against Newberg, haven't lost again in conference matches. They picked up their fourth straight Pacific win last Thursday, scoring a 57-9 win over McMinnville in a dual match held at Patton Middle School in McMinnville.

With the victory, Sherwood improved to 4-1 in conference matches. McMinnville dropped to 2-3 in conference matches with the setback.

The Bowmen in the match with the Grizzlies, picked up seven wins by fall.

Getting pins for Sherwood were freshman Ethan Ritchie at 106 pounds, junior Nick Hekker at 113, junior Logan Swanson at 126, junior Philip Resch at 132, sophomore Dalen Jolley at 138, senior Ian Stormont at 170 and junior Ian Glenn at 182.

Also for the Bowmen, senior Kaden Rhinehart picked up a 7-1 decision victory at 195, sophomore Malachi Tishendorf got a 3-0 decision win at 145 and senior Andrew Fujii scored an 11-6 decision win at 152.

Sherwood sophomore Bryan Cuthbertson won by forfeit at 220.

The Bowmen will finish their Pacific Conference schedule on Thursday, when they travel to Glencoe for a dual match. Varsity bouts are set to start at 7 p.m.
