The Tigers saw their season come to a close with a 14-2 loss to the Grizzlies in a Class 6A state playoff second-round game played May 23 at McMinnville High School.

With the win, McMinnville, the No. 2 team out of the Pacific Conference, and the No. 8 team in the final OSAA power rankings, moved to 20-8 on the season at that point. The Grizzlies also advanced to the quarterfinal round of the state playoffs, where they lost 12-2 at Grants Pass on Friday.

Tigard, the No. 2 team out of the Three Rivers League, and the No. 9 team in the power rankings, finished its season at 20-9.

Tigard junior Lexi Klum did have a big game for the Tigers in the setback. Klum went 3 for 3 at the plate with a home run, a triple two runs scored and an RBI. Senior Maddie Hoover had the Tigers' only other hit in the contest, and she drove in Klum for one of Tigard's runs.

The marked the final high school game for Hoover, the only senior on the Tiger roster.
