Togiai, Wolves top the TRL girls soccer all-star list
It wasn't easy, but the Tualatin High School girls soccer team got it done.
The Timberwolves battled their way to the championship in the powerful Three Rivers League, claiming the title with a 6-0-1 league record.
Meanwhile, the young Tigard squad, competitive throughout, finished league play with a record of 1-5-1.
Both teams ended up being well-represented on the Three Rivers League all-league list.
Leading the way for the Timberwolves was junior forward Cally Togiai, who was named the Three Rivers League Player of the Year. Togiai, the top scorer for Tualatin, helped lead the Wolves to an overall record of 14-2-1 and a berth in the quarterfinal round of the Class 6A state playoffs.
Tualatin head coach Kalé Dwight was tabbed the Three Rivers League Coach of the Year.
Tualatin senior midfielder Abby Borg and freshman defender Maya Loudd joined Togiai on the All-Three Rivers League first team.
Tualatin junior midfielder Payton Wesson, senior defender Aden Lynch, freshman defender Avery Porter and senior goalkeeper Sarah Hall were all-league second-team selections.
Timberwolf sophomore forward Brook Burke and senior defender Darci Chamberlain both earned honorable-mention accolades.
For Tigard, which went 6-7-2 on the season, while reaching the Class 6A state playoffs, junior forward Lydia Emory and freshman midfielder Jaiden Riodil were both second-team all-league selections.
Tigard senior midfielder Anette Hernandez Bran, senior defender Riley White, senior defender Steffani Rodriguez and junior goalkeeper Sara Hawks were each honorable-mention all-league picks.
Other players named to the All-Three Rivers League first team include West Linn senior forward Kaylie Brown, Canby sophomore forward Joey Baguio, West Linn junior midfielder AbbySchmidt, Lakeridge junior midfielder Emily Bachman, Lake Oswego freshman midfielder Natalie Redpath, West Linn senior midfielder Jill Brody, West Linn senior defender Maddy Gross, Lake Oswego sophomore defender Jayden Hill, West Linn junior defender Cami Fulcher and Lakeridge sophomore goalkeeper Abby Pressnell.
Other players named to the all-league second team include Lakeridge senior forward Megan McCormack, Lake Oswego freshman forward Kaitlyn Sasadeusz, West Linn senior forward Rosie Larsen, Canby sophomore midfielder Makena Speer, Lakeridge junior midfielder Bella Yannello, Lake Oswego senior midfielder Peyton Ivey, St. Mary's junior defender Victoria Snyder, Canby senior defender Ally O'Dell and Lakeridge junior defender Keely Lipp.
