The Three Rivers League district tournament, to be held at Canby, is up next for the Tigers

The Tigers powered their way to a 66-18 win over Lake Oswego in a league dual match finale held Feb. 6 at Lake Oswego High School.

With the victory, Tigard finished its league dual match schedule with a 3-3 record. Lake Oswego finished up at 0-6.

For Tigard in the match, sophomore Atticus Waddell (106 pounds), freshman Chase Dennis (132), freshman Tim Cousineau (138), senior Zack Vorvick (145), junior Cody Coppinger (152), senior Jordy Espitia (160) and sophomore James Smith (195) all won by fall.

Tigard freshman Adan Esquivel (113), freshman Anthony Esquivel (120), sophomore Raul Velasquez (220) and senior Johnny Nomani (285) all picked up forfeit victories.

Next up for Tigard will be the Three Rivers League district tournament, which will be held Friday and Saturday at Canby High School. The top three placers in each weight class at the district tournament automatically advance to the Class 6A state tournament, which will be held Feb. 28-29 at Portland's Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

Action at the Three Rivers League district tournament is set to start at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, and at 10 a.m. on Saturday. The parade of champions, prior to Saturday's championship finals, will begin at 6 p.m.
