Tigard's Makenna Reid dazzles, Tualatin loses heartbreaker, and Jesuit falls victim to Newberg pitching.

Tigard 2, South Salem 0

The Tigers' Makenna Reid continued her brilliant 2022 season, throwing a perfect game to help defeat the Saxons 2-0.

Reid pitched all seven innings, striking 18 in the process of allowing no hits or base-on-balls.

Tigard's Kaylin Kisor led the team at the plate going 2-for-3, while shortstop Ella Dardis and Nozomi Akin scored runs for the Tigers, both of which came in the game's third inning.

Reid has pitched 10 innings in the Tigers' two playoff games, on earned runs and one hit while striking out 26 and walking none

Tigard will host Newberg in Friday's state quarterfinals.

Newberg 1, Jesuit 0

Newberg's Serayah Neiss stole the show in the Tigers' second round matchup with the Crusaders, allowing a single hit over the game's seven innings while striking out 20.

The game winning run came in the bottom of the third inning when sophomore pinch runner Maggie Saunders scored on a fielding error thanks to a Scarlett Olivas line drive. Neiss and junior Kiley Harris were the only Tigers to register a hit during the game, and only Harris and junior Abby Carsley reached the base on walks.

Bend 6, Mountainside 2

Bend defeated Mountainside 6-2 as Addisen Fisher pitched a four-hitter with 17 strikeouts, not allowing an earned run.

The Lava Bears took a 3-0 lead in the game's opening inning, but the Mavericks answered with two in the third on a couple of Bend miscues. Bend however pulled further away with three more runs in the fifth inning to put the game on ice.

Sophia Weathers had two doubles and an RBI single for the Lava Bears.

Mountainside junior shortstop Ashley Goodale finished 2-for-3 with a run-scored.
