Tami Randel, Community Relations Director at Country Meadows VillageSpring is one of the most exciting times of the year in the Pacific Northwest. The days grow longer, the windows open and the sun comes out. Everyone is full of energy and ready to tackle new projects and meet new friends in the warmer weather.

On Saturday, May 27th at 1 pm, Country Meadows Village is excited to host Salem's very own Grand Jazz and Swing Band! Formed in 2002, the hugely popular local band has performed jazz and swing tunes at many local festivals, such as the Salem Fair, World Beat Festival and the Silverton Wine and Jazz Festival. Come enjoy alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks while dancing to rollicking music by the likes of Tommy Dorsey, Miles Davis, Duke Ellington, Sarah Vaughn and Judy Garland, among many, many others!

This spring, Country Meadows Village will also be partnering with Chemeketa Community College to hold a series of continuing education classes at the village. Topics include painting and basket weaving. In addition to the classes, Country Meadows will also be hosting a once-a-month lecture by visiting teachers at Chemeketa. Learning is a lifelong, stimulating and intergenerational activity, and Country Meadows is proud to offer residents the benefits of a relationship to a local teaching institution.

All events, including the Chemeketa Community College classes and lectures, are free and open to the public. For more information on upcoming events and classes at the "community for the community", or to schedule a complimentary tour, call 503-982-2221.
