Caregiver & Family Support Groups
Country Meadows Village, a senior living community located in Woodburn, offers a wide variety of physical, educational, and emotional activities to both their residents and to the greater Woodburn Community. One of the many great things they offer is educational and emotional support for caregivers and family members who take care of a loved one with Alzheimerís or dementia.
On the third Monday of each month at 2 p.m., a caregiver support group meets to discuss key topics, listen to personal stories, and be there to listen and lend support to one another. This group is run by Scott Lichtenstein, owner of Lichtenstein Senior & Dementia Care Management. While the focus is on caring for loved ones that have a diagnosis of Alzheimer and dementia, this group can be helpful for anyone who finds themselves providing care for a family member or friend.
"It is a way to find support in each other," said Susan Owens, a resident at Country Meadows Village.
Also offered, is a luncheon lecture provided by the Alzheimer's Association on the second Wednesday of each month at 11:30 a.m. Here you will learn about all the newest research as well as the research that has been tested and proven true. Topics they cover include available treatments, resources, planning ahead, legal planning, daily strategies and more.
Country Meadows Village is committed to serving as a resource for Woodburn. For more information on these events, or to call and set up a complimentary lunch and tour, call 503-982-2221.
