COURTESY PHOTO: WOODBURN AQUATIC CENTER - Woodburn residents can expect some closures due to the city's second annual Woodburn Triathalon tomorrow.The second annual Woodburn Triathlon is tomorrow morning, which means residents can expect some closures in the city as a result.

Front Street between E. Cleveland Street and Settlemier Avenue, as well as all of Parr Road, will be closed Sept. 23 during the triathlon between approximately 8-11 a.m.

Local traffic and cars going to Centennial Park for soccer games will be allowed, but drivers are asked to take extra caution with additional bikers and runners on the streets in those locations.

The Woodburn Aquatic Center will also be closed to the general public tomorrow morning but will reopen after the completion of the event, which is expected to be around 11 a.m.

Triathlon information:

This is Woodburn's second triathlon, and this time it's open to everyone ages 6 and older.

The triathlon will begin with a swim at the Woodburn Aquatic Center. Participants will cycle their way from the Aquatic Center down Parr Road, and the triathlon will finish with a short run.

Medals will be given to top three finishers in each age group and prizes will be awarded to the top male and female finishers in each age group. Food will follow the completion of the race for participants.

The course will be flat and fast for both the bike and run, and will feature many spectator-friendly locations.
