Nancy's Burgers opens doors in Woodburn
The Woodburn location of Nancy's Burgers and Fries opened its doors on Dec. 8. The restaurant is open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
"Thanks to all of you for your patience as I know it's been a long time coming," reads a post on the Nancy's Burgers and Fries Facebook page about the restaurant opening. The restaurant was originally scheduled to open in July or August this year, but that date was pushed back due to construction delays.
The restaurant's menu includes burgers made with ground sirloin (including cheeseburgers and bacon burgers), fries, sandwiches, hot dogs, onion rings, salads and milkshakes.
The location features the slightly altered name Nancy Jo's Burgers and Fries. According to a post on the restaurant's Facebook page, that's because when Nancy Giddens, the restaurant's owner, tried to trademark the logo, she was turned down because of a restaurant named Nancy's Home of Stuffed Crust Pizza, based in Chicago.
According to the Facebook post, the owner of the other restaurant "felt that the stylist (script) of my name and because of my logo being round like a pizza pan, it was too similar to their own brand." So, the restaurants will now be branded as Nancy Jo's Burgers & Fries to differentiate them from the other business.
This is the Keizer-based burger chain's sixth location, and the second to open outside the Salem-Keizer area. A McMinnville location opened in September.
The Woodburn location is the latest business to open in the Woodburn Station retail property, located on Arney Road near the Woodburn Premium Outlets. A Chipotle Mexican Grill and a Starbucks both opened this spring.
The new Nancy's location shares a building with two other retail businesses: a Verizon Wireless store and a Menchie's Frozen Yogurt shop.
