One hour sessions planned for Feb. 8, Spanish and Russian translators available at 5 p.m. session.

The Woodburn School District is midway through the process of updating its five-year Strategic Plan, and is asking community members for feedback.

A core planning team recently issued a draft of the document after work began a few months ago.

The school district is hoping that 100 community members will take an hour of their time on Thursday, Feb. 8 to review the draft and provide input.

Sessions start on the hour from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Woodburn School District Office, 1390 Meridian Drive, Woodburn. Spanish and Russian translators will be available at the 5 p.m. session.

More than 20 years ago, the district and Woodburn community developed a Strategic Plan, which guides spending and policy decisions for its public schools. The document is updated every five years, and is credited in part for the success of Woodburn students, including its graduation rates and ability to close the achievement gap between different student populations, according to a press release from the school district.

"One hour of your time could have a positive impact on the future of our students for years to come," said Superintendent Chuck Ransom in the release. "We hope you will participate."
