Man gets over 18 years in prison for sex abuse
A Woodburn man has pleaded guilty to sex abuse charges stemming from three incidents with a victim under 14.
Juan Adolfo Cruz, 22, pleaded guilty Feb. 8 in the courtroom of Judge Diane Morse to one count of second-degree sodomy and two counts of first-degree sex abuse. Charges of second- and third-degree sexual abuse were dropped as part of the plea agreement.
Each guilty charge came with 75 months imprisonment, adding up to a sentence of 225 months in prison, or 18.75 years. His earliest date of release will be in September 2036. Following that, Cruz will face 45 months of post-prison supervision and will have to register as a sex offender.
Between July 2012 and December 2017, Cruz admitted to inappropriately touching a victim under 14 on two occasions and engaging in sex during a third occasion.
He is currently lodged at the Coffee Creek Intake Center.
