Woodburn to start registering kids for 2018-19 school year who will by 5 years old by Sept. 1, 2018

Woodburn School District will commence registration for incoming kindergarten students for the 2018-19 school year beginning April 2 at the Welcome Center.

In order to register, children must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2018.

Due to the tremendous volume of registrants during this time, it is highly recommended that parents or guardians schedule an appointment in advance, as walk-ins may experience extended wait times before being seen.

When registering, parents are asked to bring their kindergarten child as they will take an initial placement test at the time of registration. This is required of all students.

Additionally, parents should bring proof of address (a utility bill or rental/mortgage agreement) as well as the child's birth certificate and proof of up-to-date immunizations.

These documents are required for registration. It can also be helpful for parents to have other information ready, including names and phone numbers, of the workplace of the parent or guardian.

Interpreters will be available in Spanish, Russian and Somali for those parents who need it.

Registration will take place at the Welcome Center, located within the Woodburn School District Office at 1390 Meridian Drive, Woodburn.

For questions or to set up an appointment, call the Woodburn School District Welcome Center at 503-982-4290.
