The CLC was co-founded by Sue Arndt, who has since retired, and Geri Federico, the current principal of Woodburn Academy of Art, Science and Technology on the WHS campus. Both will speak at the Thursday evening gathering at the CLC, which is located in a modular building near the Wellness, Business & Sports School entrance. The celebration will focus on the teen parent program at the CLC.

The CLC, which is for ages 6 weeks to 5 years old, was established to support teen parents and also to provide students with an opportunity to get involved in hands-on early childhood development experiences. The CLC is unique because of its partnership with the school district, which not only refers teen parents to the program, as well as staff members with small children, but it also allows high school students to work along professional staff.
