On Tuesday, Aug. 7, neighborhoods throughout Woodburn are invited to join thousands of commuINDEPENDENT FILE PHOTO - National Night Out has been held in Woodburn neighborhoods for many years.nities nationwide for the 35th annual National Night Out crime/drug prevention event.

NNO is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW) and co-sponsored locally by the Woodburn Police Department.

From 7 to 10 p.m., residents locally and nationwide are asked to lock their doors, turn on outside lights and spend the evening outside with neighbors and police. Many neighborhoods throughout Woodburn will be hosting a variety of special events such as block parties, cookouts, visits from the police, flashlight walks, youth activities and anti-crime and drug rallies.

Registrations must be received no later than July 31.
