Longtime real estate agent retiring
The public is invited to a retirement party for Orrin Granlund, a real estate agent in Woodburn for 30 years.
The party, being thrown by his children, will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sept. 9 at Woodburn Estates & Golf Auditorium, 1776 Country Club Road.
Granlund worked in real estate in the community with Estates Realty and spent the last four years in the business with Hallmark Properties.

Jimmy John's opens in Woodburn
A new Jimmy John's sandwich shop located at 111 N. Arney Road is now open and ready to serve gourmet sandwiches to the people of Woodburn.
"This will be our first store in Woodburn and our team is excited to serve fresh, fast and tasty sandwiches to a new set of customers in the area," said owner Kristopher Glennon in a press release. "We're also excited for our customers to try our new products including Kickin' Ranch, sliced pickles and our 16-inch Giant sandwiches."
Glennon said he plans to hire about 20 employees. Anyone interested in applying can stop by the store, open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and fill out an application.
