Multiple fire districts responded to the three-alarm fire on Hubbard Cutoff Road

COURTESY OF AURORA FIRE DISTRICT - Firefighters from multiple districts battle a blaze at Anderson Hay & Grain Company near Aurora on Wednesday, Jan. 2.Firefighters responded to a blaze near Aurora that destroyed a warehouse and its contents on Wednesday, Jan. 2.

Aurora Fire District Lt. Bill Hansen said the building, located in the 23000 block of Hubbard Cutoff Road NE, was in flames when passing motirists noticed it and called 911. Crews arrived at 8:17 p.m. and the call quickly escalated to a second alarm at 8:25 p.m. and a third alarm 22 minutes later.

Hansen said the building, operated by Anderson Hay & Grain Co., received considerable damage, as did the feed inside. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but Hansen said it does not appear to be suspicious in nature.

Aurora Fire was assisted by Canby Fire District, Hubbard Fire District, Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue, St. Paul Fire District, Monitor Rural Fire Protection District and Woodburn Fire District.

Woodburn firefighters also responded to a concomitant Jan. 2 fire at a vacant house on Brown St., just past Comstock Ave.
