The Gervais School Board began searching for a new superintendent after current Superintendent Matt Henry announced his pending resignation in May, 2018.

Henry was hired for the 2014-15 school year to replace former superintendent Rick Hensel, who held the position from 2007 to 2014 before retiring. Henry's announcement gave the board a 14-month period in which to conduct a search for his replacement, and in September, 2018, the board agreed conduct the search with an in-house team of administrators led by Ken Stott, Bob Martin, Sylvia Garcia and Creighton Helms.

Following the Feb. 28 tour with the three finalists, the board expects to announce the next steps in the superintendent search soon.
