Upcoming banquets, socials, and auctions in northern Marion County benefit variety of causes

FILE PHOTO - The North Marion All-Schools Auction has raised nearly $400,000 for the North Marion School District over the past 11 years.Its fundraising season in northern Marion County, which means a number of schools, churches, non-profit organizations and more are holding a variety of social gatherings over the next two months as a means to raise money for a variety of worthy causes.


Gervais FFA Auction & Social — Feb. 23

Those looking to support local agriculture education can swing out to Mount Angel this week to take part in the Gervais FFA program's eighth annual fundraising banquet.

This year's event will be hosted at the Mount Angel Event Center located at 210 Monroe St. in Mount Angel. The festivities kick off with an open bar at 5 p.m. featuring wine, beer and cider. Dinner follows at 6:30 p.m., with catering from Wooden Nickel. The auction program at 7 p.m. concludes the evening.

Kiwanis Casino Night — March 1

The Kiwanis Club of Woodburn is hosting its second annual Casino Night fundraiser.

The event, which is open to the public, is a fundraiser for Kiwanis projects, which include scholarships (both for graduating high school students and for low-income participants of the city's parks and recreation activities), school supply donations, swimming lessons, Safety Camp, Cub Scouts, Key Club and the Terrific Kids program for middle school students.

The event will be held at the Woodburn Eagles lodge, 371 S. Pacific Highway.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for a hamburger or steak burger dinner that is sold separately through the Eagles (cash only), followed by a silent auction and games.

The casino runs from 7-10 p.m., with blackjack, Texas hold 'em, three card poker, spin the wheel, craps and roulette.

St. Luke Auction — March 2

St. Luke Catholic School is celebrating the 40th anniversary of its annual auction fundraiser. Since 1979, the fundraiser has grown through the combined efforts of St. Luke parents, parishioners and community supporters, culminating in last year's event that featured more than 400 guests and raised over $100,000.

The event is located in Rubis Hall at St. Luke Catholic Church, 417 Harrison St. in Woodburn.

Doors open at 4:30 p.m., followed by the silent auction from 5-6:30 p.m. Dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. and a table of desserts will be available to purchase by auction.

Tickets are $60 and includes appetizers, unlimited beer, wine, soda, coffee, tea and water, a prime rib or chicken dinner, dessert and a bidder number.

The event has sold out over the past several years, so be sure to purchase tickets in advance.

North Marion All-Schools Auction — March 16

The North Marion School District will hold its 12th annual fundraiser auction event.

Created in 2007, the All-Schools Auction is organized by parents and community members to help support programs and projects within the North Marion School District that are not already in the district budget.

Last year's event raised a record-breaking $53,500, bringing the 11-year total to almost $400,000 raised.

In recent years, the auction has provided funding for field trips, senior grad parties, Chromebooks, STEM equipment, a sound system and more.

The auction will be held at Woodburn Legacy Health Center, 1475 Mt. Hood Ave.

This year's event is themed "Life's a Beach" and tickets are available for $40 each or $280 for a table of eight.

Doors, bar and silent auction opens at 5 p.m., followed by dinner and live auction.

Sacred Heart Spring Fling — April 13

Sacred Heart Catholic School in Gervais will hold its annual spring auction and dinner in April.

Tickets are limited and available from any Sacred Heart family or the school office. Cost is $50 per adult and includes a hearty buffet dinner and all drinks. Opens with silent auction and ends with oral auction.

Doors open at 4:30 p.m. and the event wraps up at 10 p.m.
