Olivio Cardona-Sales was charged with four counts of abuse of juvenile runaway

A Woodburn man was arrested on eight counts of sexual abuse and rape of a juvenile runaway.

Olivio Cardona-Sales, 20, was apprehended by Woodburn police after allegedly committing the acts of sexual abuse over a five-week period in July and August.

Investigators found the juvenile at the 200 block of North Pacific Highway in Woodburn in the company of Cardona-Sales, who reportedly was in a relationship with the juvenile.

Cardona-Sales was charged with two counts of second degree sexual abuse and two counts of third degree rape dating back to July 1.

The victim and her child were placed into protective custody with the Department of Human Services, Child Welfare Division.

Cardona-Sales was lodged in Marion County Jail on Aug. 7 and released on Aug. 9 under orders to have no contact with the victim. He is next schedule to appear in court on Aug. 19.
