Popular local band known for its bluegrass/Americana music will perform at the Woodburn Estates Dance and Social Club event

"Phoenix Duo" will be the featured performers when Woodburn Estates Dance and Social Club hosts a free happy hour concert and dance at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15.

Consisting of newlyweds Tim Crosby and Kathy Boyd Crosby, Salem-based Phoenix Duo is an entertainment act noted for its award winning bluegrass/Americana music. Over the past month and a half the duo has performed in rural Oregon haunts as disparate as Shaniko, Baker City, Aumsville and Aurora, and in farther flung locales like Carbondale, Grand Junction and Grand Mesa, Colorado and Brigham City Utah.

"You won't want to miss this opportunity to see one of the Northwest's top entertainers," Club Chairman Bill Coleman said.

The concert and dance will be held the estates Golf Auditorium, 1776 Country Club Road. The event is free and open to the public, regardless of age. Refreshments will be served, and donations for the artists are encouraged.

Coleman said an assortment of bargain-priced domestic and imported beers and wine are also available. There will be a short intermission, affording a few moments to meet the artists up close and personal.

Looking ahead toward Halloween, Coleman said the "Jefferson-Parks Band" will perform at the club's annual Halloween party Saturday, Oct. 26.
