Eastbound motorcycle operator was attempting to pass when he collided with a car

COURTESY OF OREGON STATE POLICE - Oregon State Police responded to a fatal motorcycle vs. car crash between Mount Angel and WoodburnA Hillsboro man died Saturday afternoon after the motorcycle he was operating between Woodburn and Mount Angel hit head on with an automobile.

Oregon State Police responded to a crash on Highway 214 near mile post 41 at about 4:46 p.m. The initial investigation revealed that a Harley Davidson motorcycle operated by Travis Corter, 50, of Hillsboro was heading eastbound in the westbound lanes, attempting to pass a car.

The motorcycle collided with a Chevrolet Volt operated by Masoud Jourabchi, 64, of Beaverton.

Corter was pronounced dead at the scene. The Volt had five passengers, three of whom were transported to Salem Hospital with minor injuries.

OSP was assisted by ODOT, Woodburn Ambulance and fire departments from Woodburn and Mount Angel.
