Construction work at the N. Front Street and Hardcastle Avenue intersection in Woodburn is underway this week

PMG PHOTO: JUSTIN MUCH - Construction project at the intersection of N Front St. and Hardcastle Ave. is expected to continue into December and will achieve a more fluid and safer intersectionThe city of Woodburn announced that work on the reconstruction of the intersection of Hardcastle Ave., N Front St. and Commerce Way begins on Monday, Sept. 30, and is expected to continue through December.

The city contracted with Pacific Excavation, Inc., on the project, which is intended to achieve a more fluid and safer crossing. The Union Pacific Railroad tracks also cross at this juncture.

Motorists should expect one-lane traffic and delays in all directions, along with periods of complete closure of the intersection. The city will provide updates on the project's status, but motorists are advised to seek alternative routes. Pedestrian access will also be affected.
